Walking Tour of Fort Edward’s Former Central Business District

This walking tour follows Broadway from Bridge Street to Mill and Liberty streets. The village’s central business district was a perfect example of a 1950s “Happy Days”-style community, but it is gradually disappearing. There are a few homesteads still standing. Reflect on the evolution of Fort Edward from a typical New England town to a compact canyon of buildings housing all manner of businesses and services for a bustling community.
