Education is at the core of our mission. We offer a variety of programs for students both on-site and in the classroom that relate to the New York State ELA and Social Studies Curriculums. Our classroom programs include Native Americans, Solomon Northup, Jane McCrea, as well as a variety of programs that focus on local history.
From May through Columbus Day (weather permitting) we offer school tours of our museum campus including the Old Fort House Museum and Riverside Schoolhouse (a one room school house). We can also include a walking tour of Lock 7 of the Champlain Canal. Groups are welcome to bring their lunches and dine at our picnic tables in the yard under our beautiful trees. Our on-site programs for students are a great introduction to local and cultural history from colonial times to the present.
